(Bloom) Festival Song Program (Youth Session)

🎶Join Curate this Bloom Festival for our regularly-sold out Festival Song Program (Youth Session)! 🎶

We just💗 love 💗singing, so we want to share our knowledge and skills with you!

Essential vocal health and care will be taught (including an introduction to the vocal mechanism (anatomy and physiology), along with core technical singing skills (utilising the Vaccai lessons) and an introduction to lyric (sung) diction alongside workshopping select musical theatre and choral repertoire... and, yes, we consider requests! Please pop those in your booking form!

NB We appreciate all requests; however, we may not be able to undertake each repertoire request due to group suitability and level. ❤️‍🩹

The sessions will be taught by international voice specialist Patricia Alessi, who is Australia's only Certified McClosky Voice Technician (CMVT), so vocal care and development will be at the forefront of every vocal artistry class session.

Participants will be provided with all music materials! We kindly ask that you bring a water bottle, a pencil and a folder to store your music with you to the session. 👌

On our final day, we will hold a participant concert, so that particiants can demonstrate their skills!

Please Note: Doors only open 10 minutes prior to each session's commencement.

Tickets and Material Fee

Ticket Fee: Free, thanks to the support of the Shire of Katanning!

Your ticket includes:

🎤 all music materials, including vocal exercises and sheet music!

👍It is recommended that participants wear comfortable clothes, as singing is a physical activity.

✏️ We kindly ask that you bring a water bottle, a pencil and a folder to store your music with you to the song holiday program sessions.

🎶 Whether this is your first singing session or you've been a stalwart at your local choir and are the school musical theatre star, this workshop is for you with its focus on healthy singing for the developing voice!

We suggest participants are aged 8+ for this activity, as they will be required to self-manage throughout the session.

The session will be held at the Old Power Station (Function Space), Premier Mill Hotel, Corner of Clive & Austral Terrace, Katanning WA 6317.

Whether you arrive solo or you come with a mate, we’re teaming up this year with the @roadsafetycommission_wa to help make sure every wanderer gets there safely. 🚗

Fatigue is the silent killer on WA roads. When you are driving tired, you can drift in and out of sleep without actually knowing it. This is called 'micro-sleep', and it can last three to five seconds.

Micro-sleeps are the main cause of fatigue-related crashes. A micro-sleep of five seconds at 110km/h is like travelling the length of an Aussie rules football field with your eyes closed.
