A Deep Listening Live Sound Experience
Natural Circuits is an artistic sound experience.
Natural Circuits
Natural Circuits is a live sound experience by Chilean-born, Melbourne-based musician, producer and sound artist Sebastián
Barahona, creator and host of Sound Epiphany.
The project brings together live looping, instrumental improvisation, bass, electric guitar, field recordings, environmental sound
and shifting textures to create an evolving listening environment.
The performance unfolds as a continuous journey. Sebastián builds and reshapes sound in real time, allowing layers to appear,
dissolve, return and transform. Transitions are an important part of the work: the movement from one state into another becomes
part of the composition itself.
Natural Circuits explores the meeting points between nature and technology, familiarity and abstraction, memory and
change. Field recordings and recognisable sounds can emerge inside more spacious or processed sonic environments, creating
moments where something familiar enters an unfamiliar world.
At its centre, Natural Circuits is an invitation to slow down, listen and notice what emerges.
About This Event
This is a deep listening event where you come as you are. You'll spend the afternoon wrapped in live ambient music inside a beautiful gallery space — think blankets, cushions and tea.
Bring a book if you want, a notepad if that's your thing, but really, this is a space to just be still. To soften. Nothing to do, nowhere to be.
What to Expect
- Live ambient music, created in real time by sound artist Sebastián Barahona, layering electric guitar, bass guitar and synth into one evolving soundscape. Nothing pre-recorded, nothing rehearsed the same way twice.
- A guided descent — spoken word meets meditation with guest host Neha Kumar, words with medicine. As words hold the most power.
- LIMITED to 25 people (100-person capacity) to keep the space cosy and comfortable for all. We also want people to feel deep safety in the body, for that we need more space.
- No talking during the sessions and no phones.
