Paddling Film Festival and King River Tree Planting Day

The Friends of the Upper King and North East Canoe Club, in conjunction with North East Catchment Management Authority, are proud to present the 2026 Paddling Film Festival. Join in for an exciting evening of Whitewater Kayaking, Canoeing and Wilderness Adventure Films. The 2026 World Paddling Film Festival is coming to Cheshunt Hall, it's only Victorian stop.

Showcasing the very best in paddling storytelling, the festival brings award winning films from around the globe to the community. Enjoy a curated selection of films chosen from 800 international entries.

Join fellow paddlers, ocean lovers, adventure seekers at Cheshunt Public Hall for a night of inspiration, storytelling and community connection.

They will be hosting this event in conjunction with an environmental working bee focusing on revegetation of the Upper King River. Join them at 10:30 AM to help plant trees on the Upper King River.

The film evening will kick off at 5:30 PM for woodfired pizzas and local beer and wine at the Cheshunt Hall, with the film screenings beginning at 7:00 PM. For paddlers, there will be a casual group paddle down the King River at 10:30 AM on Sunday, meeting at the put in at Lake William Hovell.
