The St James' International Organ Festival 2026: Benjamin Sheen

Benjamin Sheen comes to St James’ with a programme that draws on the organ’s orchestral imagination.

Walton’s ceremonial march and Sheen’s own transcription of Elgar’s Cockaigne frame a recital with Whitlock, Jongen, Liszt, and Horatio Parker in between.

There is plenty of colour here, but also real breadth. It is a programme that shows the instrument at its most versatile - capable of grandeur, lyricism, and warmth
