Emerging Artist Concert Series | A Free Concert at Wollongong Art Gallery

At the intersection of interpretation and creation, pianist and composer Ziv Pinco shapes a program that reflects both his artistic voice and the music that has formed it. The concert opens with the premiere of New Beginnings, a collection of original piano works composed between 2021 and 2025 and his first solo piano album. These pieces trace a personal journey – from early explorations at the piano to a more assured and individual language.

Also receiving its premiere is 'Where Will the Children Play ', composed by Ziv Pinco in response to a poem by Adam Stokeld.

The second half explores works by composers central to Ziv’s musical world. Spanning the Romantic period and beyond, the program includes music by Australian composer Miriam Hyde, Tchaikovsky (arr . Volodos), Chopin, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff – each offering a distinct voice, from lyricism and intimacy to colour and breadth.

Based in Sydney, Ziv Pinco studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and performs widely as both soloist and collaborator. His compositions have been performed nationally and internationally, and since 2026, he has been represented by the Australian Music Centre. Ziv first appeared in the EACS as a collaborative artist and soloist in 2024.

The Emerging Artist Concert Series feature dedicated, passionate musicians under 26 in concerts that invite audiences to discover and celebrate the next generation of young musicians. Arrive by 10:40 to enjoy a friendly cup of tea before the concert.
