Newport Jazz Festival Australia

Newport Jazz Festival Australia is the newest, smallest, most affordable and accessible of all the Jazz Festivals, entirely run by volunteers from Melbourne Jazz Jammers.

For their sixth year, 42 bands will be playing in the Newport Bowls Club, The Back Room, The Community Hub and the Scout Hall, all around Paine Reserve, Newport -200 yards from the train station, six kilometres from Melbourne's City Centre, and a million miles from your nearest worry. Newport Jazz Festival set out to create a country town style Festival in Melbourne. With the enthusiastic support of Hobsons Bay City Council, the festival has grown every year, and now gets many more applications than we can accommodate from both local and interstate bands. Styles include Trad, Swing, Standards, Blues, Bossa and beyond.

This years headliners include: The legendary Bobby Sedergreen and Friends and Newport sweetheart Sarah MacLaine and her Quartet. Join in at the Newport Jazz Festival. Weekend and daily tickets available. Concessions apply.
