Join us for a guided one hour walking tour of Perth City Farm and learn how this site has transformed over time, from Noongar homeland to polluted industrial yard and now to a thriving urban farm and community hub.
For the past 32 years Perth City Farm has been a not-for-profit social enterprise, restoring and regenerating marginal land through the power of community action. Artists and musicians have launched careers here, prisoners have completed community service, young people have learned permaculture and gardening, and thousands of locals have simply found a peaceful place to connect with nature.
On this tour you will:
Hear the story of the site and how Perth City Farm came to be
Learn about our permaculture approach and sustainability features
See how we grow food in the middle of the city
Visit our productive gardens, chickens and bees
This tour is suitable for all ages and abilities. Our main pathways are compacted and generally accessible for prams and wheelchairs.
Come and see what is possible when a city block is handed back to community and nature.
