Be immersed in Warwick’s quirky and unique Jumpers and Jazz Festival – a 20th Anniversary celebration of all that is wonderful about winter and a kaleidoscope of colour. Embrace the chill and be inspired by vibrant music and art while enjoying around 90 trees wrapped in art by textile artists from all over Australia and the world. Expect an eclectic program of workshops, exhibitions, pop up art and craft shops, street festivals, a giant bonfire night, static car displays, swing dance, live jazz entertainment – there is something for everyone at Jumpers and Jazz.

Day One: Port Macquarie to Tenterfield Thursday 25th

Welcome aboard our fabulous 5day Jumpers & Jazz tour. This morning we head into the New England Ranges stopping for lunch at Alternate Root Café, in the pretty town of Uralla. Home to many historic buildings and residences, it is also where bushranger Captain Thunderbolt was buried in 1870 after being killed at Kentucky Creek, just outside the picturesque town. We continue north to Tenterfield and are taken on a brief sightseeing tour before we settle into our motel as this will be home for the next 4 nights.

Day Two: Tenterfield Friday 26th

Today is all about exploring Tenterfield. We spend the morning exploring the township through the eyes of our local tour guide, as they lead us on a sightseeing tour. The town was first made famous by Sir Henry Parkes and his 1889 speech which set in motion the popular movement resulting in the Australian Federation. The Tenterfield Saddler was made famous by Peter Allen's tribute to his past and Grandfather George Woolnough in the 'Tenterfield Saddler'. Next, we visit the award-winning Glenrock Gardens. The 10 acres of gardens are incorporated within a working farm, and although the gardens are very much designed in the English style with dry stone rock walls throughout, they are also and surrounded with iconic Australian bushland. After lunch we have a wonderful, guided tour of the stunning gardens. Our final visit is to Tenterfield Railway Station Museum. The station was open in 1886 and is a rare survival of something that was once common through NSW. It is almost intact nineteenth century railway precinct. After an incredible day, we return to our motel for dinner.

Day Three: Jumpers & Jazz Festival Saturday 27th

We have a day at the colourful and vibrant Jumpers and Jazz Festival*. The community comes together to showcase their creative flair and exciting program of events including yarnbombing, popup shops and culinary delights. First, we head to the Warwick Art Gallery where the famous Yarnbombed Tree Jumper exhibition is featured. The rest of the day we have at leisure to enjoy the festival. You may like to browse the Artisan Markets or enjoy the band performances at the Town Hall stage. The choice is yours. We make a time to meet up and return to Tenterfield for dinner and share our stories of the day.

Day Four: Stanthorpe Sunday 28th

After breakfast, we head to Stanthorpe but first we stop in Glen Aplin to visit Jamworks. Here we can try a wide range of jams and chutneys all made using only the freshest and best quality ingredients. Next, we explore the Truffle Discovery Centre, home to the rare and valuable Fresh Black Perigord Truffle. Unearth all the is truffle with a tour and tastings. Lunch is at Granite Belt Brewery. Set on 30 acres of natural bushland, the country estate boasts a rustic atmosphere with delicious food and handcrafted beers. This afternoon we visit the Washpool Supply Co. Here we see artisans handcrafting luxurious raw materials into gorgeous natural products for healthy skin and home. There is a product testing station to try the soap ranges, handwashes, shaving soap and more, and the team love nothing more than helping with gift selection and wrapping. After a fantastic day, we return to our motel for dinner.

Day Five: Homeward Bound Monday 29th

After breakfast we head for home. We follow the New England Highway south to Glen Innes where we have our morning break at the Standing Stones in the Centennial Parklands. From Glen Innes, we drive through Armidale to Uralla, where lunch will be waiting for us at Inverness Park Cashmere Farm. Here we’ll be taken through the process of shearing and spinning to the final product, hear all about the shearing process and have a demonstration of yarn spinning. This afternoon, sit back and relax as we make our way home, arriving home late afternoon after a wonderful holiday!
