Knitfest - Yarn and Fibre Arts Festival

Knitfest 2021 is an exciting Yarn and Fibre Arts Festival, celebrating fibre arts and crafts, embracing the whole community of Maleny on the weekend of July 3 and 4, 2021. They yarnbomb the main street of Maleny so the town becomes a centre of art, creativity, 27 workshops, music, 100 trade stalls and craft markets. Learn a new skill or craft using yarns and fibre including knitting, crochet, basket weaving, spinning and weaving, felting and lots more.
Attracting over 10000 visitors, it's a fun weekend for all the family including a Stargazing night, cooking classes, golfing fun, Alpaca Expo and judging, Jazz on Sundays, Maleny Arts and Crafts Group demonstrations, displays and sales.
Knitfest features competitions for community groups and skilled artisans to decorate trees in their beautiful streetscapes with art installations made of yarn and fibre. There is also several competitions to enter. This years theme is “There's a Dragon in my Garden”.
Knitfest volunteers have been working hard preparing many yarnbombing projects for this year's event. Volunteers meet every Tuesday in Maleny.
