Jack & Jill Competition - Rumbia Festival

In light of current circumstances relating to COVID-19 and in the interest of health and safety, we have had to postpone RUMBIA 2020 until further notice.

The Australian Government recently issued a ban on public gatherings over 500 (now 100) people and unfortunately our venue has cancelled our booking. While the cancellation is only temporary, we will be holding the event at the same venue once the COVID-19 public health emergency has passed.

Thank you to our dance community, all our artists, DJ’s, volunteers and the venue who have been extremely understanding and supportive of the situation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our team at

We look forward to announcing our revised date shortly and will see you in Melbourne very soon!

Salsa + Bachata Freestyle Competition

After the hugely successful Victorian Jack & Jill Championships held throughout 2019, you're not going to want to miss the RUMBIA Festival version featuring our international artists competing! Plus we have some incredible prizes to giveaway!

What is a Jack & Jill Competition?

The premise of a Jack & Jill competition is that it is a 100% freestyle competition with dancers partnered up at random. This means that you don’t need to have a partner to enter a JnJ competition, as men and ladies each enter separately.

What to Expect

– Choose your style Salsa and/or Bachata

- A friendly and social approach to freestyle competitive dancing

- World Class Judges

- World renowned Salsa & Bachata artists

- Amazing prizes up for grabs!

- $10 Entry Per Dance Style

Full Information on our website:

*Competitors must hold a full Rumbia pass in order to purchase a competition pass. Please be aware that this pass includes entry for one division only. Please select the "Novice" category when prompted, unless you have been invited to compete in the Open category by a Rumbia official or have achieved enough points to advance to intermediate level.
