Reimagining Continuity by Rick Lausberg | Desert Festival 2020
- Fri 25th Sep 2020, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
- 65 Hartley St, Alice Springs NT 0870
Rick Lausberg is a self-taught artist based in Alice Springs. At last year's Advocate Art Awards he won Red Hot Arts' Desert Festival Prize for his painting “Phoenix Interrupted” which features as the artwork for our 2020 festival poster.
Join us for the launch of Lausberg's 'Reimagining Continuity' exhibition on Friday 24th September at the Yubu Napa Art Gallery. The exhibition runs 24th September - 11th October.
'Reimagining Continuity' is an exhibition of his recent paintings, reflecting a personal expression of his time and experiences in Mparntwe/Alice Springs and the central desert.
Lausberg's work resonates with the forms and colours of the central desert. His art practice, which spans nearly four decades, has developed into a deliberate form of therapeutic self-exploration, incorporating the organic forms of the natural world, mythology, philosophy, and personal experience. Lausberg paints intuitively, rarely beginning with a specific idea or formulated subject. Thus he navigates to a finished piece through intuition, rather than intellect.
Pre-register for this event to secure your spot and skip the queue. Limited spots available. Registrations open 9am Friday 4th September.
