Gold Coast Film Festival presents Film, Music and Dance

Following the recent announcement made by the Australian Government advising of the ban on outdoor events exceeding 500 people, it is with a heavy heart we have decided to cancel Film, Music and Dance presented by Gold Coast Film Festival. However, we are pleased to confirm SIPFest, the Short Film Festival competition will still continue in some capacity with more details to follow shortly.

While we are truly passionate about our event and would have loved to have seen it take place from 18 – 19 April, the health of visitors, event partners and our team is our highest priority.

We understand this will be disappointing news for all who planned to attend, however, this is unfortunately beyond our control. During this unknown and troublesome time, we would like to remind everyone to continue supporting local businesses and traders throughout Surfers Paradise and the broader Gold Coast area.

Should you have any further questions please email

The Shorts Film Festival, otherwise known as SIPfest, will transform Surfers Paradise beach into a vibrant outdoor cinema like no other on Saturday 18 April. The evening will begin at 5pm with the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra performing a rich selection of blockbuster film scores. Bring your picnic blankets, dig your toes into the sand and be captivated by cinematic masterpieces by 14 national and international short film finalists. Concluding the weekend, witness iconic movie routines performed by local dance troupes replicating dance styles from classic feature films. You can also bust a move yourself at the Cavill Dance Street Party where you can get FREE dance lessons by professional instructors.

A day of movie madness will be held at the outdoor cinema, showcasing films such as High School Musical, Step Up and Singing in the Rain.
